Devotion: Choose wisely.
"do not be deceived: evil company corrupts good habits." 1 Corinthians 15:33. The things we choose in life is greatly influenced by our morals, our values, honesty, and loyalty. You can have the same interest with others, same point of view on certain things in life, but developing las
...ting friendships and choosing to have those people in your life involves more than just sharing those interests. Do they share your same values? do you have a positive connection as opposed to a negative connection? does the friendship bring wisdom and love based communication to your life as opposed to corruption and deception in your life. Does the friendships you choose respect your faith, accept you unconditionally, motivate you to become a better person, can you speak the truth to each other in love without fear of threats to the relationship? Are you able to have friendships where you can give each other the benefit of the doubt when misunderstandings occur or do one o you fly of the handle at the slightest provocation? Examine your friendships in a Godly light and see if it is healthy friendship or if it is corrupting your spiritual health. In the same way, when making the decision to get healthy, surround yourself with people who live a healthier lifestyle, be an encourager to those those needing a helping hand. Maintain your values even if your friends and others mock them and continue to strive to be a positive influence on yourself and others. Today, our challenge is to ask God to show us how to be better friends to each other and find a close friend to be a prayer and accountability partner.
